Default RE: BH209 and Knight disc elite

dead on: I think most of reported ignition problems with BH209 in the Knight Disc Elites/Extremes were corrected by using the "Hotter" brands of 209 primers. In fact the manufacturer of BH209 (Western Powder) recommendshot, more powerful primers like Fed209a and CCI209M with their product. (You may want to check out their web site for this info).

It seems guys really started experiencing hangfires with BH209 when the weather turned cold... so the primers that worked up to early fall... would fail when the temps dropped.

I currently use the Knight NFPJ breech plug which uses a bare 209 primer instead of the Full Plastic Jacket one... and have not had any issues yet... knock on wood. It also has less blowback in thebreech area. YMMV

One more thing... I have found BH209 to be more finicky thus far in my .50 cal withrespect to accuracy...It shot better with T7 with many bullets/sabots. However, my .45 cal just loves BH209... go figure
