First number 7 heavy shot will indeed kill out to these extreme distances if your gun will pattern it well enough and it is launched with adequate muzzle velocity. Do not judge all heavy shot based on experiences with factory loaded Heavy 13. Those shells are loaded very lightly and I do not like them either. BUT, heavy shot started out at 1200 to 1300 fps is lethal as hell. Go shoot a Winchester Supreme Elite or a Nitro shell and you will notice they recoil waaay more than the Heavy 13's. That is because they are loaded much hotter. I was skeptical about this stuff at first myself but after using Winchester Elite 6's for 2 years nowI will never go back to lead. These 6's kill farther than lead 4's and pattern way better than lead 6's. It is in a whole other realm from lead when loaded properly.
