I will shoot a deer in the neck with my 7 mag or 30-06. they really do drop in their tracks keeps all the meat good. I have never shot a deer in the neck with a bow and don' t plan to. I have took a quartering to me shot which went down through the neck both lungs and came out gut. the animal left very little blood trail and was extremely difficult to find even though she only ran about 100 yards. the guts clogged the hole and made for the hard time. After that episode I will not take that shot again. just my 2 cents.
