Savages are usually super accurate. There are many "production" type guns that are accurate out of the box. Check Tikkas, Remington 700's, Brownings and the new Winchester 70's. Get what feels best to you. The .308 is a good choice. Another ultra flat choice is the .257 Weatherby (except ammo costs are high). A Vanguard sub MOA would do the trick.
