rafsob - that is a 1:28 twist 50 cal. I was all set to go shoot it today. But with painting the house and doing some plumbing work for my son - I started at 8:00 this morning and didn't get done until about 4:45 and I was too bushed.
That will make a great sabot gun. I have an InvestArms Hawkens Carbine with a 1 in 24" barrel and it loves to shoot Barnes sabots:
Two years ago when I first bought the gun I harvested a nice large doe at about 75 yds. She went right down. I do have to admit though it didn't looklike I would get her at first. My first attempt to nail her was a bust. I lined up my shot and pulled the trigger and the cap didn't ignite. I couldn't believe it, but cocked the hammer again and this time the gun went off. I didn't like this and ended up switching to a musket nipple and have never had this problem again. Oh yeah did I say that I also went to the real BP stuff? I did and I think this helps also.
