Get a good rifle and scope that is functional and reliable. Learn the wind. The wind does not have to be right in your face to be your friend.
The very best advice I can give you is....try and hunt with good hunters and learn what you can from each one of them. I've read books and watched videos and learned a lot. But a you can learn a lifetime of great hunting tips by spending just a little time with good experienced hunters.
