It makes no sense to compare the hottest 30-06 load with a mild 7mmremmag load.It would make just as much sense to compare the 7mmremmag heavy mag load to a standard 30-06 load.
You obviously did not look at the $57.17 list price compared to the 06 at $39.31 when you typed the quote above. The reason it makes sense to compare 06 Light Mag ammo to standard 7mm Rem ammo is the Light mag ammo costs less than standard 7mm ammo with the same bullets and offers greater performance. When you dont want or need the extra power of the light mags you can always buy standard 06 ammo for less coin.

The 243 shoots flatter than either the 7mm or 06 and carries more than enough energy beyond 300 yards. [/blockquote]
Comparing factory loads from Federal and Hornady, that doesn't appear to be the case. The 140gr 7mmremmag loads shoot flatter than any 243win load suitable for use on big game.
I was responding to the original poster who specified his longest shots at 250 yards. My intend was to help the original poster, your intent on most posts seem to be trolling for a conflict.
When you run the Federal 80 grain softpoint which is designed for deerit is .1 flatter at 250 yards for less than half the money.
