I kill mine by chopping off their heads. You use a frog gig or pitchfork and tease them into snapping at it and then you drive it thru their lower jaw and pin them to the ground. Then you (or preferably a helper) pull really hard on their tail and fully extend their neck and chop thru it right at the base of the skull with a meat cleaver or machete.
