RE: MEOPTA Meostar R1
It is by far our best selling line of scopes and we sell some good stuff. Swarovski, Zeiss, Leupold, Bushnell elite, Nikon, Meopta. We very very seldom have a problem with Meopta scopes.
IMO the two best scopes for the money in a high end scope are currently Meopta meostar and Bushnell elite 6500. Both will run $700 - $800 give or take and are amazingly clear, crisp, and bright. I honestly prefer the 6500 though. It has a very generous eye relief, about 4 inches, that stays very very constant all the way through the magnification range. It's magnification range of adjustmentis 6.5 times. I took a Swarovski Z6 2-12X50 and a Bushnell 6500 2.5-16X50 out right at dusk and looked through both side by side and my eye could hardly tell a difference in clarity and brightness. $700 vs. $1800. A no brainer for me.
The 6500 is definetly worth checking out.
