Sakos are fine rifles. Many features that make it a quality, accurate, strong rifle out of the box. Floating barrel, 3 lug bolt, etc. The price matches that.
I urge you though to also look at the new Tikka T3 rifles. The rifle is also a Finnish mfg. It has an floating barrel identical to the Sako. It' s been redesigned from the previous models. A little lighter, still has an adjustable trigger, top-grain walnut stock or synthetic, palm swell, fits well. Above all, it' s guaranteed factory tested 3 shots @ 100 yds within 1" . It also costs about about 1/2 of the equivalent Sako rifle. For $800 I had the rifle and Nikkon Monarch mounted.
I bought a .300 WM T3 this summer and put a Nikkon Monarch 3-9 X 40 scope. Sited it in at 100 yard. It' s true. 3 rounds within 1" . Backed up to exactly 200 yds and it was still within 2" , leaning over the hood of a Jeep! I haven' t had a chance to hunt with it yet, but I really look forward to it!
