Default RE: My Accura is here

Grouse, I think it's an excellent rifle - and if all anyone wants is a muzzleloader (with no interchange feature) I would recommend it over an Encore any day of the week. The Encore is perhaps built with more solid material in the action area but lockup is actually tighter in the alloy receiver of the Accura. The Accura trigger is superb right out of the box, it comes with a nice little hammer extension included, and the Accura barrels I've seen have all been consistently excellent.

The Accura buttstock looks a little goofy, IMHO, but so does the factory Encore stock. Fit of the Accura stock is much better for my frame.

If the Apex EVER gets into production/delivery stage, that rifle will be a more direct competitor with the Encore as a utility rifle.

I really think that Apex would be worth waiting for (at this point), especially if you like the idea of barrel interchange.

UC: Is your's a .45 ? - No, both of mine are .50 caliber

Or are you shooting the 50/40 blue MMP ? Mine are both currently sighted in with 90 grains BH209 (60.6 grains weight), 300 grain XTP in black crushed rib sabot, Win209. I'll probably re-sight one of them with the blue MMP and 200 grain .40 XTPs. That will be a very easy thing to do as the groups simply move straight up or down with weight change.
