Top Ten Hunting/Shooting Myths[/i][/b]
1. Professional hunters on TV/magazines know what they are talking about.[/b][/b]
a. They are getting paid to promote
b. High fence (Ted Nugent shooting a deer with a tag in its ear)
2. You need lighter faster bullets to shoot longer range.[/b]
[/b] a. Heavier bullets have a higher ballistic coefficient and carryaflattertrajectory over longer distances.
3. Bonded bullets are the needed to kill deer[/b].
a. Bonded bullets vs. non-bonded
b. Lead tips vs. poly tips
4. The 30-06 is the best all around caliber for hunting.[/b][/b]
a. The best all round caliber is the one you can shoot.
5. A magnum caliber kills deer better then a standard.[/b][/b]
a. Hunter’s ability to shoot is more important than caliber.
b. Shot placement is the key to any hunt.
6. Big heavy bullets provide more knockdown power and kill DRT/Light fast bullets provide hydrostatic shock and kills DRT.[/b][/b]
a. Large bullets deposit energy in a deer.
