Default RE: First Spring Gobbler Ever

Thanks Guys. He didn't come easy, he made me work to get him. I called him close, but he kept hiding in a wheat field and would only let me see the very top of his head. He layed down about 60 yds from me and wouldn't come in so I moved about 30 yds closer to him and waited for him to make a move. I had my 3yr old wait were we where, but she didn't and came to me. When she came to me, she got right behind me and said, "Daddy where's the turkey?" When she spoke, the tom jumped up and I shot, down he went. My daughter yelled, "Daddy you got him" (throwing her right arm in the air). She was so happy, she just kept saying you got him, you got him jumping up and down. She has done a great job of sitting with daddy the last two weeks out in the woods cause I didn't use my blind, so we could move if we needed to. She walked overa mile out of the woods as I carried my things and the turk.
