This is what I would do....

1. Go get fitted at a shop (to get your draw length). Even if you have to pay a few dollars for this (not likely), it would be worth it.

2. Second thing I'd do is start perusing the classifieds section on Archery Talk. There are some STEALS out there, right now, on quality used bows.

3. You could probably get a 1 yr old $800 retail, top of the line bow....for $400-$500 (maybe less).

If you have questions about specific bows/deals.....these guys here can lead you in the right direction.
