Like thundermug said you don' t know fl. law. I have a brother-in-law who is a game warden and has been in that situation numerous times. You will allow the deer to be recovered whether you like it or not. I don' t know about other states but in fl game wardens have fewer restrictions on them than police officers. A cop can' t pull you over just to check your driving licence but a game warden can come on your property to check your hunting licence.
