I know it's coming, heard/read about it probably a good year ago, though I remember it was years away so I'm thinking 2010 if anything.
But ya a small diesel for 1500 is in the works for all of them from what I know. Not sure if the 2500/3500 will also get the option, hopefully.
All the stats I've read about them though, I figured they would do better, all diesels fo rthat matter, I figured would get even better mileage than advertised...
Jeep's small diesel suggested not much better mileage, while VW's TDI gets 50mpg? A diesel jeep getting 22mpg vs. 18mpg doesn't impress me much.
I'm guessing once the half ton diesels come out you'll be able to tune em to get more power just like the big boys, though probably less gas mileage too.

Anyone know the latest word of GM(?), Ford(?) or Dodge(?) supposedly getting a small diesel into their 1/2 ton trucks? What was that supposed to be a late 2009 or 2010 release?
