Mauser06, you certainly can use a climber in PA, there' s dozens of guys on this forum who do. You just can' t use the old kind with the spikes going into the tree, but any Summit, Loggy, API, etc, is perfectly legal.
You can buy a deer cart then lay your rifle, climber, extra clothes, etc right on top, and the deer on the way out. They sell nice ones that are very light and strong and fold up for throwing it in your vehicle. I' m trying to pick one up for a spot where there' s only walk in access, but my trail starts about a mile down a dirt road. Hell of a drag, and the state puts stones down that really tear up a deer while dragging.
Check out the ones in Cabelas, if you' re only using it a couple of times a year, you could probably make one that would work just fine using old bicycle tires.
