I almost always hunt from a tree stand, but I am usually after mature bucks with a bow. I often have deer around me, and a tree stand keeps me from getting busted by does and young bucks that I don't intend on shooting. There is risk associated with a tree stand and it is a hassle. But I know for a fact that I can hunt more effectively, especially with a bow, from a tree stand.
