I' ve always used the loose fitting style of facemask during the early season. Since it doesn' t fit snugly against my face, mosquitos have a hard time biting me through it. The baggy style also tends to break up your outline better.

I also wear a camo cap to both shade my eyes both from sunlight and to help conceal the area around them which may be exposed.
