Here in alberta you can use a crossbow during the archery season if you have a medical reason.Otherwise you must hunt during the regular rifle season with your crossbow.I think this system is fair to everyone.If you are able to use a regular bow and want to hunt the archery season you can spend the time to learn to use a regular bow.If you are handicapped and can' t use a regular bow you can still hunt the archery season.If you are healthy and want to use a crossbow you can just not in the archery season.
