Default RE: what is kisser button

Bobcat 10, a kisser button is a device/object you add to your bow string to use as another anchor point around your mouth/lips. When you draw your bow back and anchor, you can feel this unit on your lips/mouth and it helps you be repeatitive which is very important in shooting a bow. Consistancy is where accuracy comes in. A kisser button can be anything from a metal nock, rubber cushion, a string tied in a knot or many of the manufactured " kisser buttons" on the market.

Do you need one? That depends on your consistancy. When using a peep, it isn' t always necessary to use a kisser button. IF your anchoring consistant, then no you don' t need one. If you learn to anchor and shoot without one, then don' t use one. Anything you add to your string, slows your arrow speed. I do believe consistancy is improved with either a kisser or a peep but both are not necessary.
