I just saw some adds for a new line of " less" expensive leupolds you might want to look at. The scopes still come with the lifetime warranty and are supposed to be around $200 retail.

I quickly read the advertisement, and went to go look at it again, the " new" scope is a redesigned VX-1. The scope is a great scope and well within your price range.
