I would keep the hunt booked as planned. The ban is not the outfitters fault. I think there will be enough pressure from sportman & outfitters to lift the ban? One thing they might make a hunter due is have the meat processed & frozen before the trip home? They can test the brain tissue & tell you if the elk has CWD.
If they do not lift the ban you can always donate the meat. I know you would like to eat your own animal. If you can afford the trip to Canada you can afford to buy beef at the store.[] There are some people that can really use the free meat.
