It was my understanding that the when the O2 strings were first introduced that they were a combination of Winners Choice and Stone Mountain. Since Winners Choice backed out of their agreement with Bowtech I assumed that all O2 strings were actually Stone Mountain.
Someone help me out here.
BM,
Tell your buddy congrats. The EX VFT is a great bow. If the brace was a hair more then I would have probably chosen it over the Pat SC.
As for the comparison with the Cam and a Half....possibly. However, you have to remember that the limbs also play a part in determining the smoothness of the draw cycle. The ZR200 style limbs found on the Timberwolf and Buckskin are longer and at a more forward facing angle than the XT2000 found on many of Hoyt' s high end models. Your friend might have had a slightly different experience with the Cam and a Half if it were mounted on a different set of limbs.
Just thinking out loud.
