Last fall I bought a cheezy CVA 50 cal. Buckhorn ML kit at Dunhams for $139 It had a cheap inline, capper, some cleaning stuff, 295gr Powerbelt bullets, etc. Best move I ever made. I went out opening day and shot a deer with my 30.06 7400 at daylight, then went and got my muzzle loader. I shot one more with it. Next weekend I shot 2 more with it. With just 2 50gr Pyrodex pellets the 295gr hollow point out of the ML seems to put my 30.06 to shame. My average shot is 15 yards, with 50 being long distance. The 30.06 seems to whistle right through them unless I hit bone. The ML does real damage, and at 15 yards taking neck shots who needs a second shot? I do cheat though. I take the PowerBelt HP and slightly drill out the hole in the end to remove all copper, and touch it' s nose to a grinding wheel to remove all copper from the front of it. I lose about 10gr of weight. I hit one in the neck last fall. I didn' t strike bone, but 5 neck bones fell out while I had it hung pulling the skin off..

I' ve since sold my 30.06, bought a sweet Realtree Camo CVA Hunterbolt at Sam' s Club for $169, and a nice AK-47 with the money. My favorite thing about the cheapo CVA ML' s besides their stopping power and accuracy is they are so light and quiet. My 30.06 always had a sling swivel clinking, a saftey that made a loud click. My ML' s are very light and silent. - Joe
