Default RE: A Trio of Sows

If you are a deer hunter and live in a state that does not yet have wild hogs you are very lucky. Hogs destroy deer habitat. Have seen what the hogs here do to the wheat fields. I can only imagine the damage wild hogs could do to a soybean orcorn field.

Deer do notlike to drink from a pond that hogs wallow in. In a year when mast is scarce it is the hogs that thrive at the expense of the deer. There is some indication that hogs kill small fawns. Have often seen hogs run deer off of the game plots.

Hogs in this part of OK have reached vermin proportions. It was allowed to get this way because the OK DepartmentFish and Wildlife did not take wild hogs seriously 10-20 years ago. We are still not allowed to shoot hogs at night in OK because theDFG is afraid someone will spotlight a deer. Manystates with a budding hog problem are also messing around and allowing hogs to rapidly multiply: Only a few states are taking wild hogs seriously.

The wild hog situation is so bad here that some folks are getting together, ringing fields with hunters and runninggroups of hogs down with trucks and ATVs.
