I really like shooting the .458's (45-70) for elk - you are shooting a real rifle bullet...
I shoot the Nosler while elk hunting and I shoot the Sierra @ paper as i can not afford to shoot the Noslers... The Sierra's fly really close to the Noslers.
In my Knight I shoot 120 grain of T7-2f with Nosler in a Orange MMP sabot, In the Omega I do reduce the charge down to 110. Last year I dropped a cow almost in her tracks with the 110/Nosler combination from a Remington 700ml
Here is a pic colection.. My range estimation was not very good cause whe we lasered it it was 180 yards or there abouts - I would have to find the original post to be exact...
And this is the results after skinning...
When I checked her I had a hole on both sides of her body so I thought i had gotten a pass through... but when we skinned her we found the bullet in the upper leg bone.
