I think your only concern's with boring out vs re-barrel might be accuracy loss/barrel life.Thin barrels whip more which is not good for accuracy.It would also heat up a lot quicker so you would have to allow extra time for it to cool or risk shooting out the barrel sooner as well.I know a lot of folks go that way but I seriously doubt they end up with a gun that shoots as well as they'd like.
