I do use a $200 dollar rifle and a 150 buck scope, all bought on sale. And since I am a dedicated 45cal shooter, here is a small tip for those of us that love the 45's

The 200g 40cal/10mm XTP is a Super Accurate bullet with plenty of killing power for most shooters, from 30-120 yards easy! And 70-100g of your favorite powder works great. Use the MMP Tan 45/40 cal sabot, or the Harvester Crushed Rib or Smooth Blue sabots. About 20cents plus sabots

And if you want to save even more money, You can Practice with Berry's Bullets-in the 40cal/10mil, 200g HP
These look and shoot to almost the same point of impact at 100yards, and you can usually get them form Cabellas or directly from Berry's in bulk boxes of 250-500 bullets.
