ORIGINAL: City Slicker
OK.......
without a bore sighter.........I think this is how I should play it...
I plan on getting both a Muzzle loader and a rifle and would go to the range to set them up.
I would prob start at 50 yards and would want to be 2" high at that point.
1. shoot the gun
2. "dry" site the crosshairs on that spot
3. shoot again (3 shots?)
4. If I hit low, move it up (yes 1/4 " per click)
5. If I hit left, move it right (1/4" per click)
6. enjoy being a good shot! (well at least I wouldn't be able to blame the gun!)
Is that correct?
Like the name says....I'm a city slicker!
1 click for at 100yrds and 4 clicks at 25 yards "if your scope is 1/4 IN PER 100?" aND IF YOUR SCOPE IS PERPENDIGULAR TO YOUR BARREL and if you are shooting corresponding loads to the caliber of gun you are shooting?!? SOUNDS Confusing doesn't it? Ok lets go back to basic and a SOLID REST. First and formost! If you shoot a bullet at 25 yards and it is on a solid base and you are certain it is on then take the rifle and place the scope on the hole you just shoot. Now without moving the gun and or bag and or scope dial your scope to point of aim you had wish to hit. Now shoot another and dial again with the same formula as above. THEN figuire out what yardage you will shoot and repeat the process. It is just that simple if everything is tight and your gun is shooting consistantly? You will have it?
