5'11" geez you country boys .... avg man is 5'9" ya know...lol,

Yeah, but I was raised in Iowa... so I'm corn-fed!

Hey, I'm short. My maternal grandpa was a 6'6" full blooded Irishman. But, being tall is overrated. Sure, I can reach the top shelf, which is nice, but the fact is that most of the people who hang those overhead signs at Walmart are a lot shorter than me, and think that 6'2" is "high enough". I have to duck a lot when I go in there. Oh, and then there's the fact that cars are made to be driven by "average" people. I can't even ride a sport bike cause my legs are too long.

One advantage of being tall though, is that you never have to carry the machine gun or the radio when you're in the Corps. They give those to the shorties 'cause they make smaller targets! [&:] Why wouldn't you want to carry the machine gun or the radio... other than the fact that they're heavy, the average life expectancy of a radioman in a firefight is 6 seconds, the average machinegunner lives about 10 seconds. Having a MG or radio in a war zone is like having a 180 B&C rack on opening day of rifle season in PA.
