TFOX, just a slight change in thinking. Nobody will ever convince me that a 350 grain carbon will penetrate as well as a 500 grain aluminum shot from the same bow with the same broadhead. If they did penetrate all that well, then you' d never see anything but passthroughs on the hunting videos. Instead, I' ve rarely seen a passthrough on one of those videos since ICS-type carbons have come on the scene.

Maybe a 450 grain carbon would equal the heavier aluminum. And a carbon of equal mass ' should' exceed the aluminum due to the smaller diameter and quicker recovery characteristics. That' s the theory I' m exploring anyway.

A whole lot of carbons don' t come long enough from the factory to make arrows for me. Are the Nitro shafts at least 32.5" long?
