I have a couple of BDLs and like them a lot. I have a Browning SS Stalker 270 and it is a great gun. Previously had a 700 BDl 270 and it was fine but wanted a Detachable Mag. The browning had the DM and it fit me well, so I traded in the rem. for it some years ago, haven' t been dissappointed. I suggest taking a look at the browning abolts and the 700 BDl in a 270, just so you can compare. Either way I think good cartridge and gun choice. BTW, I now use a 700 BDL Custom DM in 7 Rem Mag and love it...so I am back to toting a 700
