Last year I planted beans in small amounts & they never made beans as the deer ate the plants right down to the ground. This year I am going to try to plant all of my food plots to beans & I am working up another acre that I plan to plant to beans as well. My plan then is to go back w/ turnips around the 1st of Sept. if the deer have mowed the beans down again.
