I think they both have their advantages. If your going to be pulling a heavy load such as a stock trailer, then a diesel is the clear-cut winner. If you drive short distances, then a gas is a lot better just because it is extremelly hard on a diesel. Diesel also use to be cheaper than gas, but now its not the case. You do get a slight advantage on mileage, but its hard to make up for the higher price. A gas engine also has the advantage of not having to plug them in to start in cold weather and no dealing with fuel additives ect.
