Default Lake whitefish ice fishing

^My first whitefish of the day. I caught it ona wetaskiwin twitched off the bottom. It completly swallowed one double hook and the other double hook found its mark in my palm when I went to grab the fish lol. Hook in hand plus flipping whitefish is always nice. Good thing I use barbless hooks lol.

^Aunts first whitie

wetaskiwin ownage^

^Me and my dads limit. Needed one more for a full limit but the first and the last are always toughest to catch lol. My aunt got a limit as well. For the whites I was very slowly twitching a wetaskiwin a few inches off the bottom. I also had some hits when the rod wasnt even moving. They are fun to catch and very hard fighters through the ice. Im using 8 pound test and they are still a handfull bringing up. Now that we got some for the pan I can start catch and releasing them.I also got some on a slader which is a double hooked jig head. Used it unbaited and slowly raised up and then lowered the rod tip immediately making it cartwheel down. Treat them like buzzbombs almost. For the wetaskiwins, I also used them unbaited and just slowly twitched them.
