The 3.5x10x44 Conquest has a maximum field of view of 35' at 100 yards, compared to only 25' for the 4.5x14x44.In other words the 3.5x adds 40% to the field of view over the 4.5x.That is a substantial difference.
I'll gladly trade the ten feet of field of view for the extra power on top.

Also notice that the 4.5X14 is better in low light than the 3.5X10.
I wouldn't... At least NOT when i'm hunting, as 10 feet isHUGE when you trying to find something standing in brush or tree's... If that same animal starts to walk, that 10 feet becomes an evenBIGGER issue... Especially for a hunter with less scope using experience!

As far as exit pupil... A human eye will only alow so much light to enter, and after that point, a bigger exit pupil doesn't matter. You can add 6 inches to the onjective lens, and it still wouldn't matter even thoughthe exit pupil keeps ketting bigger as the objective lens gets bigger...

Depending on your age, 40mm pretty much gets you there, and after that it's really up to the quality of the glass and it's coatings...

But what most don't understand is the physics of resolution vs. objective. Especially on HNI.
