To each his own, that's what I say. What's right for you might not be right for me. My Dad uses a Rem 700 in .222 and frowns on using calls or decoys, like I said to each his own. Personally I don't like to eat a bird after it's had a handful of shot slung through it.
The idea is to shoot em in the head, blow it clean off if you can. Then you ain't gotta worry about biting down on a pellet.....unless you eat fried turkey brains or turkey neck gravy. And if I used a Rem 700 I wouldn't use calls or decoys either, I'd sit on the cabin porch with my feet up and pop em from 150 yards when they're eating. I guess if it's legal it's legal, and like you said, to each his own.
