RE: Out West Which Brand/Model Shooting Sticks?
Since I live 'out west' which is determined, I presume by where you originate from I can answer. I hunt mulies eastern CO (which is actually 'out east for me')every year. Never saw an attached bipod that worked well for that. Buy good sturdy shooting stiks with a pivoting head. They will extend above the CRP grass and cut corn quite well, bipods don't. The weight is not a problem. On the plains you will spend lots of time looking from a far distance and planning a stalk. At least that is the way we do it. The terrain doesn't allow for much else. My sister farms 12,000 acres out there and there are like two trees on the property....its flat as a pool table.
