Hey guys, the only real way to have your opinion heard is to personally contact your U.S. congressmen via email or telephone, even a personal visit if that is practical. Then go tell you friends to do the same thing. Also, talking to your state level congressmen is a good idea too since they often visit with the U.S. representatives from that state. I have discussed online and email petitions with my representatives and he explained the difficulty of using an online petition as a valid argument on the house floor. Anybody can make a website and generate a petition. He told me that this happens quite frequently so the people who think they are cheating the system invalidate a potentially legitimate means of political participation.
