IMO mono is better that braided in a bait caster its alot more easy to get knots out braided always seems to pull tight

I tend to agree..when braid backlashes..you are trouble..
#1. you just wasted alot of money
#2.you have to cut it off.

THEREFORE; my backcasters run a micro tad tight..My Revo still cast plenty long enough so I'm fine..
