Competition would be the only time I would see a high end call having an advantage. Your not calling to a nondiscriminating gobbler. You are now calling to a human who wants to hear near perfection. You can still make sweet music to a judges ears with a $3-$4 dollar mouth call though, but I imagine 99% of the contestants are using custom calls. I could see a more noticable difference when it comes to pot calls at a competition. The higher end calls then would definately have an advantage. Just like a mouth call,any pot call CAN call in a turkey. It's up to the individual using it.Good luck in competition.
