RE: ???What is the killing range of the 44 rem mag??
In a recent issue of american handgunner it recalls the story of Elemer shotting a deer at 500-600yards with his .44mag. now before you call him dumb, the deer was already wounded by a rifle hunter that Keith was guiding. so keith, who is a big fan of shooitng long ranges with sixguns(not necessarilly at game), in prone position with a 6.5" S&W.
To see if the story could possible be true, John Taffin (writer of the article), shoots at a old logcabin at 1/2 a mile and the bullets go thru the first wall (made of 6" to 8" diameter logs) and then sometimes thro the wall behind.
While i dont think you should shoot at 600 yards 200 will be fine ONLY if you can shoot that well
