If you're going to be shooting Luma-Nocks, I think that makes it even more of an argument for 125 vs. 100gr tip, to keep your FOC up. And I. likewise, add a little to my arrow rather than shorten it. I believe you get a little better flight with a little longer arrow, but can't prove it other than my experience seems to trend that way. Extreme example crossbow bolt vs. 30" compound bow arrow makes it pretty obvious, but I don't think you could prove a whole lot varying 1.5" on a 26-28" arrow.
I hear what you are saying Doug, and my belief is that the culprit is usually lack of FOC in the short arrow flight. I could be wrong as I haven't run that through any testing.
