I just returned from an African plains game safari and if I was to do it again the rifle would be a " light as possible" .338-06

The thing the .338-06 has over the .35 Whelen is bullet variation and selection. I also believe I can make a .338-06 perform out of a 22" barrel and lose four inches of brush catching steel!!
