the only reason for doing that to the bullet was to get them to the same weight. when they were coming out of the mold the weights would vary as mush as 5g. 30 years ago an old freind of my dad's was a competitive ML shooter, he would weigh out his bullets or round balls to the nearest grain, he claimed it helped eliminate the flyers we still talk about today. I can't say for sure but on Sat. when I shot I put 40 shots out on the range and not a single flyer. But like I said I'll have to shot a bunch more rounds and be able to duplicate what I did last weekend before I can say if this really works.

I've got to say that the results were not what I would say is a typical day at the range for me, normaly I can shot well up to about 25 shots and that is all my back can take. Also here in Co. it is rare to have calm or no wind for a full day of shooting to take place.
