There shouldn' t be a problem using the felt.For added protection I use RIG on a sheep skin. I' ve used RIG for as long as I can remember and never had the slightest bit of rust.I know there are allot of modern lubricants that work well,but RIG has proven to me to be reliable in rust prevention.
