It could have!!!! But that type of tree, has got a lot of give to it. Even a small buck has tremendous power. I once watched a small 5 pointer, work a rub. It was something to see, he would take the sapling to the ground, back and forth. He mangled that tree, from the ground up. Seeing trees tore up high like that is not real common. But not unusual on that size tree. If the tree is solid as fence post and tore up that high, then their is no doubt a big one done it. Anything is possible.... and we all see new things every year. Hope you get some pictures.
