I enjoy mushroom hunting too, can't hardly wait. Canning is a good way to preserve mushrooms.
Here is the recipe...Use only pint or half-pint jars. After sterilizing the jars, add 1 teaspoon canning salt to each.
Fill with morels, stems down. Stack full and tight in the center. Add room temperature distilled water, filling about 3/4 full. Place in pressure cooker for 30 minutes at 10 pounds pressure.
I have kept them for 1 year this way, no problems. You can also dry them.
