I've always just used the little foam plugs.... but ear muffs would be nice.
I just threw a number out there, I'm sure you could find a pair for pretty cheap that will protect you fine with a .22
The point is to definitely wear
something, everytime your ears get cracked by that or any gun it causes permanent hearing loss that will build up over time. Until your only 40 and going "Huh? what was that?"
Seriously start now and be smart about it and take care of your hearing. I know it's "only" a .22 but those little autos can really be piercing.
